Turbulenz and Mozilla partner on HTML5 games hackathon

Mozilla and Turbulenz are combining their HTML5 JavaScript expertise to sponsor and run the HTML5 games category at the upcoming Hackathon at Pinewood Studios, gamehack. Rob Hawkes, Mozilla technical evangelist, commenting on the partnership, said “Developers are now looking to technologies like HTML5 and JavaScript for rich, immersive games and we’re making sure that Firefox is ready to support them”.  The prize fund for the category - first prize of £500 plus potential for an additional £2,500 as well as publishing the game online - was also confirmed.

The event lasts 24 hours and is being held at the famous Pinewood Studios, just outside London, on Saturday 28th and Sunday 29th April. Developers and hackers can sign up online. Team Turbulenz will be there in force to help everyone get up and running, answer questions and generally help everything run smoothly. The free pizza and drinks are worth the entry fee (just £5) alone!
