Canvas support is great, but here’s the best bit: if you’ve got a webmaster that hates you and makes you run an old version Internet Explorer, Firefox or whatever, we’ll automatically detect it and provide you with a super-slick 3 step process to get the Turbulenz Engine installed meaning you can play awesome games too!
We’ve spent ages tweaking our engine so that it turbo-charges your browser and makes games run faster than native WebGL. If you want to have the fastest, best gaming experience on Turbulenz you can still install our engine via the settings panel under the ‘Game’ tab.
If all this talk of WebGL is making you excited, then don’t forget to read our white paper explaining why what we’re doing is such a breakthrough in Internet generation game engines.
Finally, a home of your own - User Cards
Each member of Turbulenz now has their very own unique area where everything they post, earn and share will be immortalised in a single page of you-ness! We believe social interaction is as important as gameplay on Turbulenz - whether you’re gloating to a friend that you earned a badge, or asking them if they want to play multiplayer - each interaction should be fun and easy.
In this first release of the user card you can view all of a user’s posts in a single feed, the games they play, the badges they’ve earned in each associated game, and the friends and followers of that user.
Coming soon within a user card you’ll be able to compare badges, invite a user to a game, access quick links to what they’re currently playing and see how much of a game they’ve completed.
Use the Front Door - Integrated Sign In and Register Pages
We’ve implemented a simple little change meaning that linking directly to a game now leads users who are not signed in to a special, game-branded sign-in page. Less time clicking, more time playing.
